Blind Children’s Center Celebrates Inaugural Tables That Bloom Event On First Day of Spring
Los Angeles, CA – On March 20, Blind Children’s Center, LA’s only center-based school for blind and visually impaired children, held its inaugural Tables That Bloom fundraiser at The California Club in Downtown Los Angeles. The colorful event championed by Delta Gamma alumnae chapters across the country was held on the first day of Spring to kick off the season in style.
Each table featured custom-designed tablescapes by nine local designers who showcased their talents while supporting one of LA’s oldest charities, now in its 80th year of service. The imaginative designs ranged from a toy construction crane adorned with flowers thanks to Women in Construction, a “Beauty and the Beast” themed table courtesy of the Disney Imagineers to the fan favorite, a special table decorated by the Center’s own teachers, with brailled chocolate bar wrappers featuring photos of students.

Entrepreneur-designer and UCLA Delta Gamma alumna, Erin Condren, served as keynote speaker. Joanna and Roberto Aceves spoke about their wonderful daughter Gianna who has been a student at the Blind Children’s Center for the past seven years. Her family has shown hope, strength, and resiliency, working in partnership with our staff every day to ensure Gianna’s well-being.
And if you missed this year’s Tables That Bloom fundraiser, don’t worry! We will be back next Spring with another wonderful event to benefit the children and families at the Blind Children’s Center!
