Sensational Happen

The Challenge

We are operating the most modern and progressive programs available for visually impaired children; serving 65 children in a 1950s building designed to serve 30.

Why is the Blind Childrens Center treating more children with multiple disabilities today than ever before?

Today, premature infants weighing as little as one pound can survive outside the womb. These tiny babies experience a dramatically increased likelihood of blindness and multiple disabilities.

Now, a greater percentage of our current infants and young students have multiple challenges that require additional skills, equipment, space, and specialized facilities.

The Blind Childrens Center represents the best chance these infants and children have to get the right start in a sighted world.

What makes the Blind Childrens Center uniquely qualified to operate a First, Second, and Third Grade?

70 years of experience educating infants and children from birth to age 6 and a staff composed of recognized experts in our field make us uniquely qualified. Since 1938 Blind Childrens Center has set the standard for best practices.

If you are the very best at what you do, why do you need to make changes?

We realize we are providing quality services that are unparalleled in the private or public sector. But, is that enough? With several key changes to our physical facilities, improvements to our equipment, and additions to our programs, we can do even more.

Isn’t that what the children and parents deserve?
