ability, or giving motivational speeches, Tom Sullivan continues to touch and
inspire. Tom has been a special friend of the Blind Childrens Center for more
than 30 years.

Celebrity Golf Classic
The Riviera Country Club was once again host to The Tom Sullivan Blind Childrens Center Celebrity Golf Classic sponsored by John Hancock Life Insurance. On Monday, June 27, 2011, 126 golfers turned out to enjoy a perfect day and a round of golf to raise money and awareness for the children at the Center's 19th annual golf tournament.
The day began with a delicious breakfast and a golf clinic by nationally acclaimed golf instructors Jim Hardy and Laird Small. They put on a wonderful presentation, educating golfers on how to get the most out of their swing. Everyone truly enjoyed the knowledge they shared.
First Place went to Fred Fyten's foursome. His teammates were Richard French, Bob Kastner and Victor Vanacore. Congratulations, guys!
We also had three contest holes this year; two were "closest to the pin" and the other a "hole-in-one." The winner of the first closest to the pin contest was entertainer Pat Boone coming 8 feet 5 inches from Hole #6. The second closest to the pin contest went to Jon McClintock who came 9½ inches from Hole #16. No one succeeded in shooting a hole-in-one this year but both Robert Hays and Todd Caldwell came close at only 48 inches away.
The evening festivities were a success with a silent auction full of wonderful items. Congratulations to Mary Perl who won our opportunity drawing for a week in Paradise Cove, Bahamas.
Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and we were honored to have Joe Mantegna present The Steve Garvey Spirit of Light Award. Congratulations to Allergan, this year's recipient of the award, and huge thanks to them for all they have done this year for the Center.
Tom Sullivan, entertained us with his musical talents and we were in the company of many wonderful celebrities including Pat Boone, John Brenkus, Don Felder, Richard Karn and Alan Thicke just to name a few.
