President George W. Bush appointed Ollie Cantos VII, Blind Childrens Center graduate, as Associate Director for Domestic Policy. Ollie is the President's point person on all domestic issues having to do with people with disabilities.
His responsibilities include: briefing the President, making recommendations on his appointments, and advancing the President's disability agenda under his New Freedom Initiative.
During an informal conversation with the Center's Board of Directors, Ollie mentioned that he is very excited about his new position and that at heart he is “still just a Blind Childrens Center kid.”

Blind Childrens Center alumnae, Melanie Sceberras Alt, graduated from the University of North Texas College of Arts and Sciences in May. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism.
