Accomplished Solo Flutist
On Sunday, Nov. 11, Kyra Sweeney, Center graduate, played with the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra at Disney Hall. The concert is part of the International Youth Orchestra Festival. Kyra performed a solo flute selection in a piece called Dance of the Hours by Ponchielli.
The children at the Center love to have Kyra visit and play for them. Kyra also plays flute with the John Adams Middle School Wind Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra in Santa Monica. She has participated in several competitions and has won awards. She started playing flute when she was in 4th grade.
Congratulations, Kyra!
