The Tom Sullivan Blind Childrens Center Celebrity Golf Classic

The Rivera Country Club was once again host to our day of golf and giving. On June 9, 2008, over 120 golfers turned out to enjoy a round at the prestigious club to raise money and awareness for the children at the Center’s annual golf tournament.

The day began with a demonstration on precision golf from Dennis Walters. He put on a wonderful show. Everyone truly enjoyed his knowledge and skill. Other activities included a blind-folded putting contest where each golfer got the chance to experience hitting the ball without using the sense of sight. Congratulations to board member Scott Schaldenbrand, this year’s winner.

The evening festivities were a success with entertainment from tom Sullivan, norm crosby, Dennis McNeil and our spirited live auction from John Carson. Congratulations to this year’s Steve Garvey Spirit of Light Award recipient, Greg Mack.

Through their generosity, the tournament raised $168,591 – the largest amount ever! A special thank you to Tom Sullivan for his leadership, vision and love.
