Blind Children’s Center Interior Designers Recognized for Renovation Work
Los Angeles – The Blind Children’s Center (BCC) has reached another inspiring milestone: its beautifully renovated campus has earned recognition for design excellence. MasBuild, the team entrusted with the interior design, has received the Design Excellence Award for Non-Building Projects from the SoCal National Organization of Minority Architects (SoCal NOMA).
This award highlights MasBuild’s exceptional work in honoring mid-century design and preserving the legacy of famed architect Paul R. Williams, who originally designed the campus. The transformation seamlessly blends contemporary accessibility features with timeless design. Each design detail supports sensory-friendly spaces and reflects a commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment for children of all abilities.
“BCC’s renovation was so much more than a physical upgrade,” said Chief Executive Officer Sarah Orth. “It was about creating a space that inspired the children and families we serve and paid tribute to the history of the facility itself. We are immensely grateful to MasBuild for recognizing the importance of this vision and bringing it to life.”
With these improvements, BCC has reaffirmed its role as a space where students and families can learn, grow and thrive. The project’s recognition by SoCal NOMA emphasizes the importance of design in creating environments that empower individuals and celebrate diversity.
