The Blind Children’s Center (hereafter the Center) is committed to ensuring the privacy of its friends and supporters. This privacy policy outlines the information we collect and how it is used. The Center gathers personal information, such as first and last names, company names, home and business addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and credit card or debit card numbers, only when voluntarily submitted by you. Reasons you might submit your information to us include registering to join our email list, donating to us, ordering merchandise like our publications or videos, or submitting a form on our website. If you make an online donation, including a sponsorship or reservation for one of our special events, personal information will be collected from you in order to process that donation.
With your permission, we will use personal information collected from you to send you information, either by mail or electronic mail, such as our Light the Way newsletter, information regarding our golf tournaments and other special events, fund-raising campaigns and calls for volunteers. Donor information is stored within a donor management database within the Center, and access to this database is restricted to staff with legitimate business to access or modify the information. Personally identifiable information is stored on our server and is not publicly accessible, and again, access and use is restricted to staff with legitimate business to access or modify the information. Additionally, sensitive data such as credit card numbers are encrypted using SSL and other industry standard measures, to provide security for online donations and transactions.
Websites and companies may be engaged by the Center to perform a variety of functions, such as processing donations, merchandise orders, or registering athletes for fundraisers, etc. However, these companies may use such personal information only for the purpose of performing that function and may not use it for any other purpose. In addition, we do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete the function.
